The Opportunity
Our client’s vision is to lead the Circular Economy through innovative Packaging, Reuse, and Recycling solutions. Currently, they are looking for a Category Manager – Resin to develop and execute best-in-class sourcing strategies and contract management aligned with the strategic priorities and business needs.
This role will be responsible for sourcing HDPE, PP, and PET resins for ANZ & Asia and is focused on developing long-term business relationships with global and regional resin producers.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the relationship with our client's key strategic resin partners
- Developing the 1 to 2yr category strategy with input and alignment from key business & functional stakeholders (what to buy, where to buy, how to buy, when to buy)
- Competitive supplier selection or development, Benchmarking & best practices -identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies
- Initiate and drive large global change management projects e.g. alternative resin approval, New country of origin sourcing, recycled material qualification
- Share market insights that support the business with accurate price forecasting, which includes market conditions, price trends, and future market trends to enable proper budgeting and price forecasting
- Responsible for price forecasting ensuring accuracy and completeness of the forecast economic assumptions and communicating timely to key business stakeholders forecast updates
- Work with consultants like HIS or ICIS to deliver Key insights
- Internal and External Stakeholders' communication
Skill, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree qualification in Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or anything related.
- At least 7 years of working experience in the Supply Chain, Procurement, or Resin Industry
- Experience in the resin category or any other traded commodity
- Demonstrated business acumen and commercial insight.
- Proficient negotiation skills with knowledge of procurement concepts and processes.
- Robust analytical capabilities, including financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex business and market data.
- Strong multitasking abilities, adept at managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and deadlines. Possesses a proactive "can-do" mentality.
- Proven experience in stakeholder and supplier management.
- Proficiency in project management.
- Familiarity with utilizing SAP and Coupa.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete work within established deadlines and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
